He was predeceased by: his parents, William McKinley and Pearl Melissa Lovejoy (Dolin); his son Cory Lovejoy; and his siblings, Rev. Everett Lovejoy, Harry Lovejoy, Rexford Lovejoy, William Lovejoy, Frankie Lovejoy and Mary Stanley.

He is survived by: his children, Johnny Ray Lovejoy, Christal Lovejoy, David Lovejoy, Robert Lovejoy, Nina Aldridge (Raymond), Rocky Lovejoy, Clayton Lovejoy (Kayla), Keith Lovejoy (Ashley) and Kyle Lovejoy; his brothers, Brownie Lovejoy (Martha) and Kenny Lovejoy; and his nieces, Donna and Connie Workman. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
