He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Stone and Ethel Stone (Palmiter); his stepfather Dan B. Stone; and his brothers, Bryce L. and Dan C. Stone (Judy).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Lewis Stone of Hop Bottom, Pennsylvania.; his daughter Sara Miller (Terry) of Kent; his stepgranddaughters, Sonia Srichai (Robert) of Minneapolis and Esther Thatcher (Bob) of Kent; and his nieces and nephews, Andrew Stone (Tracey), Ralph Lewis, James Lewis (Melody), Holly Stone and Heather Dunkerly (Todd). He is also survived by many great-nephews and nieces, and a host of friends.
Curtis was inducted into the Helms Foundation Hall of Fame, the New York Athletic Club Hall of Fame, The Road Runners Club of America Hall of Fame, and the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame among others.
