He was predeceased by: his father Victor Swetel. He is survived by: his wife Debra Swetel; his daughter Heidi; his son-in-law Charles Waligura; his sons, Victor, Terry Swetel, Mark and Corey Swetel; his grandchildren, Kayla, Alana, Maxwell, Jolene, Ian and Ethan; and his sisters, Patricia Hollis, Ruth Munjas and Jane Vanik.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in his name, to American Legion Post #496 Honor Guard, 1945 Mogadore Rd. Kent, OH 44240.
