He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon A Sommers and Phyllis Sommers (Jacobs); his grandparents, Arthur and Helen Jacobs (Vogt); his sister Gail Payne; his niece Becky Carlson; and also Daniel Preble.
He is survived by: his siblings, Roberta Hays (Leo Sr.) of Kansas, Arthur (Janet Sommers) and Jeanne Weber (John) of Indianapolis, IN; his nieces and nephews, Margie, Leo Jr. (Tineke Hays), Tony, John, Shelly (Alex Payne) and Kent Sommers (Kendra Weber-Crowe); his great-niece Molly; his great-nephew Jacob Heilman of Kansas; and his cousin Carolyn Gittinger (Randall) of Melmore.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that charitable contributions be made to the Seneca County Opportunity Center in Tiffin.
