He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem Knapke and Anna Knapke (Zumberge); his brother Paul Knapke; his brothers-in-law, Linus Monin and John Ehlers; and his great grandchild Grace Knapke.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Grillot; his children, Brian Knapke (Chris), Karen Maag (Randall), Joseph Knapke (Mary), Ronald Knapke (Nancy), Joyce Taylor (Brian), Nancy Knotts (Michael) and Melissa Langhals (Nathan); his grandchildren, Nathan Knapke (Hailey), Michael Knapke, Greg Maag (Kelly), Ryan Maag (Morgan), Justin Maag (Megan Mclemore), Elizabeth Kopp (Ian), Ben Knapke (Kayla Santoro), Morgan Knapke (Zach Fischer), Grant Knapke, Collin Knotts, Claire Knotts, Carlie Knotts, Ethan Langhals, Max Langhals and Owen Langhals; his stepgrandchildren, Cadi and Jack Emerson; his great grandchildren, Lillian Knapke, Emma Knapke, Rylee Maag, Emmett Maag and Henry Maag; his siblings, Jerry Knapke (Joan) of Hamler, Rita Monnin of Tipp City, Vi Bangasser (Bob) of Freeport and Eileen Ehlers of Leipsic; and his sister-in-law Pat Knapke of Versailles.
