He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene V. Phalen and Helen Phalen (Gilroy); his wife Ruth Mae Adkins; his daughter Geneva McCann; and his grandchildren, Justin Cash and Amanda Cash.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick Phalen of Lima, Shawn Phalen of Lima and Kelly Richey (Steve) of Kalida. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
