He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Korte and Margaret Korte (Erhart); his wife Helen L. Brickner; and his siblings, Henry Korte (Dorothy), Ray Korte (Marie), Chuck Korte, Luella Cooper (Bill), Mary Bockrath (Harold), Lucy Schimmoeller (Jack), Laura Unverferth (Len) and Betty Lou Siefker (Amos).
He is survived by: his children, Jan Schroeder (Gary) of Kalida, Joyce Selhorst (Michael) of Columbus Grove, Julie Horstman (David) of Kalida, William Korte (Sonia) of Defiance and Jeff Korte (Ann) of Kalida; his grandchildren, Shelly Horstman, Tracy Lucke (Matt), Elizabeth Rover (Larry), Brad Schroeder (Carrie), Jackie Hermiller (Jeff), Lauren Nussbaum (Joel), Logan Selhorst (Lauren), Lindsey Siefker (Aaron), Jordan Horstman (Julianne), Jason Horstman, Audrie Ann Hammersmith (Isaiah), Gavan William Korte, Derek Korte, Ryan Korte (Christina Berger), Marissa Ankney and Andrea Ankney; and his sister-in-law Leona Korte. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
