He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norbert Sager and Agnes Sager (Stoepfel); his spouse Colleen Rucklos; his children, Lisa Mitchell (Dennis) of Glandorf, Connie (Mark), Radabaugh of Columbus Grove, Susan Barnhart (Mike) of Glandorf and Jeff Sager (Teresa) of New Bremen; his siblings, Dean Sager (Barb) of Ottawa, Kenny Sager (Marge) of Glandorf, Sam Sager (Sue) of Glandorf, Nancy Siebeneck (Earl) of Leipsic, Barb Kreinbrink (Jim) of Ottawa and Joan Thomas (Ed) of Tallahassee, FL; his daughter Tricia Sager; and his sister Diane Unterbrink. He was also cherished by his grandchildren and enjoyed animals.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
