He was predeceased by: his father Elmer Joseph; his granddaughters, Megan and Brittany Schnipke; and his brothers, Richard Nussbaum (Helen), John Nussbaum (Delores) and Jerry Nussbaum (Carolyn).
He is survived by: his wife Judith Rose Gilles; his daughters, Brenda K. Kidd of Lima, Deborah R. Schnipke (Keith) of Cloverdale and Diane M. Wurth (Gery) of Ft. Jennings; his grandchildren, Sarah Hubbard (Derek), Emily Dailey (David), Brooke Curry (Nicholas), Brianna Hanes (Andrew), Alicia Reitz (Jonathan), Amber Warnecke (Ross), Andrew Schnipke, Alex Schnipke (Kylie), Kyle Recker (Jessica), Brandon Recker (Lauren) and Trevor Wurth; his sisters, Kathryn Wischmeyer (Alfred) of Ottawa and Ursula "Butch" Alt (James) of Bluffton; and his sister-in-law Delores Nussbaum (John) of Ottoville. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
