He was predeceased by: his parent Dwight Dawson; his wife Margaret "Peg" Dawson; and his siblings, Ruth Detrich (John), Dorothy McCue (Harry), Ross Dawson (Jean) and John Dawson (Mary Carol).
He is survived by: his parent Catherine Dawson (Ross); his sons, Tom Dawson (Pam) of Jewett, OH, Richard Dawson (Rosemary) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Jim Dawson (Donna) of Toronto, OH; and his grandchildren, Chris Dawson (Penny), Scott Dawson (Jennifer), Lisa Dawson and Christine Peterson (Erik).
