He was predeceased by: his parents, James Stewart and Evalyn Kail Stewart; his wife Bonnie Dunlap Stewart; his son David Stewart; and his brother James Stewart.
He is survived by: his children, Carl Stewart (Jessica) of Jewett, Renee Ralston (William) of Rayland, Melissa Hursey (Robert) of Jewett and Freedom Curtis; and his siblings, Richard Stewart of Mishawaka, Indiana, Donna McGray of Jewett and Janet Wells of Bellview, Ohio.. He is also survived by granddaughter and care giver and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
