It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maynard A. Johnson of Jerusalem, Ohio, born in Medina, Ohio, who passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Johnson and Gay Shrieves Johnson; his son Roger Johnson; his siblings, Edward Johnson, Mary Ann Johnson, Eva Gay and Glada Quick; and his sons-in-law, William Simmons and David McCleary.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Kahrig Johnson; his daughters, Tamelia Simmons of Bridgeport and Melissa McCleary of Bethesda, Ohio; his siblings, James "Fred" Johnson (Julie) of Quaker City, Ohio, Jannet Yoho of Upper Sandusky, Lela Stacy (Bill) of Salesville and Olive Larrison of Miamisburg, Ohio; his grandchildren, Chelce (James), Amber, Joshua (Lilly), Miranda, Antonia and Latasha; his former wife Donna Slevin of Bridgeport, Ohio; and his close friend Shawn Penyak. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
