He was predeceased by: his parents, Urlin Slater and Blanche Feazel Slater; his sister Elizabeth Bowie; and his daughter-in-law Deb Slater. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Bone Slater; his children, Jeffrey Slater and Jenny Slater (Barb Steiner); his grandchildren, Hanna Slater (Stephanie) and Taylor Slater; his great grandchild Madison; his brother James Slater (Shirley); and also Joni Hite. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
