He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Markling and Marilyn Markling Jr. (Goetz); and his nephews, Shannon Franks and Stace Franks. He is survived by: his partner Sandy Beros; his daughters, Carolyn Markling (Bryan Petry) of Dayton and Stephanie Metcalf (Kyle) of Sandusky; his granddaughters, Amelia and Annie Metcalf; his siblings, Tom Markling (Karen) of Wooster and Jan Markling (Sue Ramsey) of Canton; and his nephews, Shawn Franks, Josh Franks and Zach Franks.
