He was predeceased by: his siblings, Chester Wilt, Ralph Wilt, Grant Wilt, Carl Wilt, Bill Wilt, Marlyn Wilt, John Wilt, Fern Wilt Hollingsworth and Jane Wilt; and his grandson J. P. Robinson.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Berry Wilt; his children, Richard Wilt of Frankfort, Rusty Wilt (Brittany) of Jeffersonville, Corey Wilt of Washington, John Welsh (Jessica) of Washington, Jeff Welsh of Washington, Brenda Robinson (John) of Frankfort, Kimberly Engel (Chuck) of Frankfort, Regina Hobbs (Allen) of Portsmouth and Joanna Gordon (Robert) of Washington; and his siblings, Robert Wilt (Sandra) of Enon Ohio, Malcolm Wilt, Ronald Wilt (Sandra) of Wilmington and Wanda "Muggs" Wilt of Brockport. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, numerus nieces and nephews.
