He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Bryan and Darlene Marie Detillion Payton; and his sister Judy Duncan. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Sword Payton; his children, Ernie Payton, Rebecca Markley (Aaron), Debra Knox (Daniel) and Julia Berryhill (Matthew); his siblings, Thomas Payton, Harley "Bo" Payton (Kathy), Roy Payton (Sandy Brown), William Payton, Donna Meek (Rodney) and Sharon Barker (Marvin); and his grandchildren, Kate Thompson, Aidan Markley, Raymond Brill, Tiffany Smith, Vincent Berryhill of Robert, Amber Haynes and Numerous. He is also survived by Numerous great grandchildren.
