He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Edward and Evelyn C. Carlson (Congdon); his wife Jean Carlson; and his brothers, David, Robert and Kenneth Carlson.
He is survived by: his children, Robert E. Carlson (Robin) of Marion and Kristine K. Dickman (Doug) of Townsend, TN; and his grandchildren, Meg Pittz (Matthew), Max Carlson (McKenna), Emma Swanson (Austin), Aimee Kovach (Matthew), Jillian Dickman and Jordan Dickman (Kristin). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
