He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Cantrell and Reathia Cantrell (York); his wife Susan Marie Cantrell (Green); his son Cameron Cantrell; and his brother Gary Cantrell.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Cantrell, Belinda Baker (Will), Criss White (Jim), Toni Mathis (Alvin) and Shannon Cantrell; his stepchildren, Tracy Devine (Tim) and Theresa Mathis (Jerry); his grandchildren, Derek Thompson, Megan, Mollie, Cameron Cantrell, Luken, Clair, Carli Baker, Rachael, Bethany Rennie, Austin, Chelsea Raines, Cole Cantrell, Brandon Agnew, Alex, Devonte, Ebony Mathis, Delaney, Charlie Devine, Tre and Lillian Mathis; and his siblings, Sue Morris (Randy), Steven Cantrell (Diane), Lynn Cantrell and Jerry Cantrell (Anna). He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
