It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Kay Gies of Jackson Center, Ohio, born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on July 7, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard "Bud" Gartin and Betty Jane Hughes (McCallen); and her spouse Thomas L. Gies. She is survived by: her children, Terri Berning (Bill) and Tim Gies (Mindy); her grandchildren, Christine Schrage (Michael), Brooke Poeppelman (Curt), Kerstin Wiechart (Reggie), Courtney Cratty (Tyler) and Courtney Gasson-Lee (Patrick); her great grandchildren, Kenzlee, Zoey, Evelyn, Zayden, Noah, Emberlynn, Lyle and Karsyn; her sister Roseann Robinson; her stepbrothers, Gene Hughes (Vicki), Bob Williams (Pam) and Ron Williams; and her close friend Janice Shank. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
