We are sad to announce that on January 12, 2025, at the age of 64, Loretta Thomas of Ironton, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Katzenbereger and Jean Katzenbereger (Westland); her sister Judy Katzenberger Layne; her brother-in-law James "Deacon" Dietrich; and her nephew Mitch Layne.
She is survived by: her children, Juan Douglas "JD" Thomas Jr. of Ironton, OH, Hannah Thomas Jacobs of Ironton, OH and Kylie Grace Thomas of Columbus, OH; her siblings, Barbara Katzenberger Mullins of Auburn, CA, Helen Katzenberger Dietrich of Urbana, OH, Theresa Katzenberger McCreary (Vincent) of Portland, OR and Brent Katzenberger (Barbara) of Warren, OH; her close friends, Sherri Davidson and Pam Pemberton; her grandchildren, Lily Thomas, Miles Thomas, Morgan McMillian, Ethan Jacobs, Leah Jacobs, Brayzen Williams, Lacy Jacobs and Caleb Jacobs; her great grandchildren, Elly-Jane McMillian, Cash McMillian and Carson McMillian; and the father of her children Juan Douglas Thomas Sr.. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and bonus children.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (905 S 5th St, Ironton, OH 45638). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (Ironton, OH 45638).
