He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hurst Sr. and Lennie Roach Hurst; and his brothers, Robert and Rocky Hurst. He is survived by: his wife Jill Stapleton Hurst; his children, Joni Gray (Tony), Jerrica Hurst (Michael), Jeffrey Hurst Jr. (Priscilla) and James Hurst; his brothers, James Hurst Jr. (Jerri) of Franklin Furnace, Marshall Hurst (Sherry) of Franklin Furnace and Michael Hurst (Tammy) of Franklin Furnace; his sister-in-law Becky Hurst of Ironton; his sister Melody Mulkey (David) of Ironton; and his grandchildren, Leeonah, Kamdyn, Gunner, Sophia, Axle, Carter, Ryker and Bella.
