It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James L. Holtzapfel of Ironton, Ohio, who passed away on January 14, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Leonard Isadore; his wife Thalia Burke Holtzapfel; his siblings, Paul Holtzapfel, Michael Holtzapfel and Janet "Patty" Roadcup; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Neal, Fred Newman and Geraldine "Gerry" Holtzapfel.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia McAllister (Dean) of Grove City, OH, Christi Waybright (Tom) of Ironton, OH, James Holtzapfel of Wiesbaden, Germany, Kenneth Holtzapfel (Angela) of Houston, TX and Nicholas Holtzapfel of Ironton, OH; his grandchildren, Rob Williams (Nicole), Kenny Holtzapfel, Josh Holtzapfel (Jessi), Sara Hackworth, Scott McAllister (Cindy), Mary Hathaway (Michael), Christopher Willard (Heather), Hannah Holtzapfel and Haley Holtzapfel (David Byrd); his siblings, Rita Patterson (Tony) of Knoxville, TN, Karen Neal of Dayton, OH, Janice "Tiny" Newman of Ashland, KY and Robert Holtzapfel (Gail) of South Point, OH; and his siblings-in-law, Connie Holtzapfel of Franklin Furnace, OH and Orin Roadcup of Ironton, OH. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren.
