He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon "Ross" Sloan and Francis Sloan (Lively); his wife Mary Steele (Angello); his siblings, Jean Steele and Vernon Sloan; and his stepparents, Richard Steele and Inez Sloan.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert D. Steele of Lancaster, KY, Tim P. Steele (Lynn Bragg) of Huron and G. Scot Steele (Kathy) of Dover, OH; his grandson Gian Paul Steele of Dover, OH; and his siblings, Lowell Sloan (Anne), Wilma Lewis, Dale Sloan (MaryAnn) and Peggy Laughman (Ed). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
A wake was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at the Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel (16 Cooper St, Wakeman, OH 44889). Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky Chapel (2001 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
