It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maria Hammond of Huron, Ohio, who passed away on September 11, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Fred R. Hammond; her daughter Gabriela; her parents, Amalie Sedlatschek and Ludwig Sedlatschek; and her brother Gerhard Sedlacek.
She is survived by: her daughter Tanja; her son-in-law Tim Wrenn; her daughter Patty; her son-in-law Stuart James; her granddaughters, Natalie James Dunlap and Adrienne James of Sandusky; her great grandchild Dorian James Dunlap; and her sister-in-law Marian Hammond Howland.
Although Mom never contracted COVID-19, we have no doubt the necessary and understandable pandemic restrictions on nursing home visitation contributed to her rapid decline over the past several months.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Erie County CASA Program, 111 E. Shoreline Drive, Sandusky, to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, or to one's favorite charity.
