It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary K. Whitacre of Huron, Ohio, born in Elyria, Ohio, who passed away on May 7, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Whitacre and Mildred Whitacre; his in-laws, Chuck and Lois Kern; his brother-in-law Ed Loescher; his former wife Marion Whitacre; and his son Daniel Whitacre.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne Whitacre (Kern); his children, Kristen Roemer (Mike), Angie Resko (Larry), Bill Whitacre (Stacie), Nick Whitacre (Vicki), Chad Whitacre (Amanda) and Kyler Whitacre (Lindsey); his sister Shirley Loescher; and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Mowery, JoAnn Kern and Chuck Kern (Mary Jo). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
