He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Carpenter and Lynda Carpenter (Doan); his former wife Jeanne Carpenter (Culp); and his siblings, Ellen Proctor and Floyd Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Carpenter (Coyer); his children, Jeffrey Carpenter of West Mansfield and Teresa Carpenter-Cummins of Dublin; his stepchildren, John Shannon (Janean) and Heather Butler; his grandchildren, Destinie Hefner (Aaron), Danielle Carpenter, Deanndra Carpenter (Blake), Amber Harvalias (Steven), Ashley Cummins and Aimee Mitchell (Eric); his great grandchildren, Barrett, Meadow, Manny and Sophia; his stepgrandchildren, Jami Lovell (Trent), Justin Shannon (Val), Megan Butler and Paige Butler; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jasi, Wyatt, Javen, Parker, Jaegar, Cohen, Mailey, Nettie and Rula; and his siblings, Bernice Ganson of Huntsville, Marie Murdock of Lakeview and Ronnie Carpenter (Nancy) of West Mansfield. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial contribution be made to Interim Home Care and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
