He is survived by: his wife Deborah Derr Maier of Huntsville; his children, David F. Maier II (Traci) of Huntsville, Douglas E. Maier of Hillard and Devery M. Peterson (Frank) of Statesville; his grandchildren, Zach Maier (Kelly), Claire Maier, Gabi Davidson (Travis), Charles "Skylar" Maier and Madeline "Maddie" Maier; his great grandchild Raina Davidson; his stepchildren, Mike Derr (Rebecca) of West Liberty and Shauna Norviel (Jim) of Zanesfield; his brother Robert E. Maier (Carol) of Huntsville; his sisters-in-law, Ann Maier of Bellefontaine and Rita Maier of Sebring, Florida; and also, Shelby Guthrie (Luke), Dakota Derr, Peyton Derr and Rylan Norviel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
