He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernice Hassler and William Markle Hassler; his wife Carolyn M. (Wilkinson); and his siblings, William E. Hassler and Barbara L. (Hunter).
He is survived by: his sons, James (Diane Hassler, family: Jennifer, Jamshid Moradmand), Maziar and Cameron of Thousand Oaks, CA.; his nieces and nephews, Shari, Doug Dunn, Jeff, Deb Hassler, Sandra, Paul Stoodt and Cindy Hunter; his great-niece Lucy; and his great-nephew Alex of Cincinnati Ohio.
The family is requesting donations be made to Hospice in Dayton in lieu of flowers.
