He is survived by: his parents, Oliver Ward and Catherine Grace Kanouff McMillen; his wife Cheryl J. Hunyadi; his children, John E. McMillen Jr (Trisha), Melissa Vadino (James) of Woodstock and Keith McMillen of Hubbard; and his siblings, Gene Lunger of Boardman, Martha Pomeroy, Ruth Hiner, Sara Hinchman of Ohio, Jacqueline Rickard of Ohio and Betty Smith of Ohio. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
