It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Matthew Blackwell of Hubbard, Ohio, born in Emporia, Virginia, who passed away on May 29, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence Blackwell and Bessie Hawkins Blackwell; his wife Jeri Phillips; his children, John Blackwell, Jr. (Victoria) of Warren, OH, Kisharra McBride (Richard) of Youngstown and Destiny; his grandchildren, Nadiyah, Austin, Dallas and Empress Blackwell; and his siblings, Ruby Warren of Youngstown, Elizabeth Hunter of California, Nathan Blackwell of Charlotte, NC, Grady Eatmon of Buffalo, NY, Mary Cardenas, James Blackwell and Willie Eatmon.
