He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Sr. Benton and Alice Benton; his wife Margaret C. Scheckelhoff; his children, Michael T. Benton Sr. and Kathleen Ann Toke; and his siblings, Charles Benton, Foster Benton and Mary Lynn Cuprik.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel L. Benton of Hubbard, John F. Benton (Sonja) of Hubbard, James D. Benton (Gigi) of Hubbard and Mary A. Smith (Kenny) of Sharon, PA.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
