He was predeceased by: his parents, Clearance J. Bauer and Marie E. Smith Bauer; and his brothers, Jimmy, Paul, Dave and Bill Bauer.

He is survived by: his wife Marie E. Welsch Bauer; his children, Debra Annette McFarland (Thomas) of Hubbard, John F. Bauer Jr. of Niles, Gary Lee (Cynthia) of Brookfield and Kenneth Eugene Bauer (Patricia) of Vienna; and his siblings, Evelyn Zeller of Cortland, Louise Galloway of Albertville, AL and Robert Bauer of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County 812 Youngstown Kingsville Rd. SE, Vienna, OH 44473.
