He was predeceased by: his father Carroll Welch; and his wife Dorothy Ruth Welch. He is survived by: his children, Judy Newman of Pataskala and John "Tim" Welch of Jelloway; his grandchildren, Jacob Allen Newman and Elizabeth Nicole Kozycki; his great grandchildren, Hunter Newman, Abigail, Camden Kozycki and Corbin Newman; and his brother Jerry L. Welch.
