He was predeceased by: his wife Anna; his brothers, Carl, Albert and Paul Hans; and his grandson Cole Cline.
He is survived by: his children, Dalene Thompson, Jacqueline Packard (John), Michael Hans and James Hans (Shelly); his grandchildren, Melissa (Josh), Amanda (Vinny), John, Justin and Amy; and his great grandchildren, Kayden, Giavanna, Keagan, Gabriella, Kyson, Giavanni, Jayda, Blake, Katie and Maddie Jo.
