He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Holbert and Sylvia Holbert (Cunningham); his wife Barbara Holbert (Wheeler); his stepdaughter Cynthia McKee; his siblings, Ernest H. Holbert, Dorothy Knaup and Madelyn German; his grandsons, Charles Smith Jr. and Kyle Hiles Sr.; his grandparents, Alphious, Melinda Holbert, Joseph and Effie Cunningham; and his friend Jane.
He is survived by: his children, MaryBelle Cummings, Sylvia Evans (Henry), Phillip Holbert Jr. (Susan) and Rebecca Durant (James); his stepchildren, Greg Wheeler, Jeffrey Wheeler (Debbie), George Wheeler (Robin) and Lisa Fouch (Jeff); his brother Richard Harley Holbert; and his close friend Dave Lenhart. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
