He is survived by: his mother Sandra Merriman; his son Zach Merriman (Savanna); his siblings, Michele Diss (Jeff), Debbie Ritz (Harry) and Suzanne LaBuda (David); and his nieces and nephews, Andrew Ritz (Melinda), Christina Barrick (Josh), Matt Ritz (Brittany), Diana Weaver (Billy), Danielle Martin (Joel), Jessica Darst (Jeremy), Paul LaBuda, Allison LaBuda (Derek Rohr) and Michael LaBuda.

He organized his annual fish fry to collect donations for those less fortunate.
