He was predeceased by: his father Edward Casteel. He is survived by: his mother Denise Casteel (Piatt); his wife Peggy Wood-Casteel; and his children, Shelby Casteel, Chance Casteel, Gabrielle Wood-Campbell and Max Wood. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins and numerous friends.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to the family to help defray the funeral expenses.
