He was predeceased by: his parents, David Y. Byler and Susie Byler (Miller); his siblings, Jake Byler, Anna Bender and Katie Byler; and his in-laws, Menno and Kate Ann Hilty.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Byler (Hilty); his children, Jerome Byler (Edna), Susan Kauffman (Roy) of Loudonville, Jeremiah Byler (Barbara) of Stonecreek, Marvin Byler (Mandy) of Holmesville, Melvin Byler (Claire) of Killbuck and Elsie Hostetler (Ervin); his grandchildren, Reuben (Dora), Jonathan (Irene), Edwin (Katherine), LeAnna, Deborah, Josiah (Norma), Leander, Kyle, Beka (Mark), Leon, Jaden, Joshua, Breanna, Brodie, Kianna, Jade, Brandon, Miranda and Makayla; his siblings, Joas Byler (Martha) of Fredericksburg, Joe Byler (late Martha) of Benton, Mary Shetler (late Mose) of Fredericksburg, Susie Nisley (Jonas) of Loudonville and Nancy Miller (Tobias) of Fredericksburg; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Byler of Wooster, Anna Byler of Fredericksburg and William Bender of Middlefield. He is also survived by three great-grandsons, one great0-granddaughter.
