He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edward "E. C." and Pearl Donald Powell; his wife Carolyn; his brother Howard Powell; his nieces and nephews, Thomas Powell (Kay), Robin Kern (James) and Sharon Simon (Rick); and his grandchildren, Robert Kern, Meagan Kern Fyffe, Adam Kern, Alissa Simon, Scott Simon and William Powell. He was also cherished by 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
