He is survived by: his wife Elvera Bertram (Hollen); his children, James Bertram (Susan), Gerald Bertram (Joanne), Robert Bertram Jr. (Donna), Randall Bertram, Marjory Arko (David), Barbara Seither (Richard) and Rebecca Graham (Gary); and his sister Pauline Ertter. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
