He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Clarence Mayer and Edna Ruth Mayer (Moore); his daughter Morgan Marie Mayer; his great grandchildren, Sarah Steyaert and Shaun Steyaert; his brothers, Thomas P. Mayer and John D. Mayer; and his former wife Jessie Mayer Wilkins.
He is survived by: his children, Billiejo Mayer McKirahan (Jay), Barbara "Bobbie" Cole (Scott), Bryan Mayer (Cindy), Beth Mayer Bray and Amanda Penix; and his brother Robert J. Mayer. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
