He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell McLaughlin and Lillian Roberts McLaughlin; his wife Dolores Jean Moberly McLaughlin; his son Ronald McLaughlin; his grandsons, Timothy McLaughlin and Steven Michael Smith; his great grandchild Gabrielle Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Kay McLaughlin and Roger Gossett.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Pence (Roger) of Winchester, Robert McLaughlin (Karla) of Hillsboro, Cynthia Elam (Phillip) of Hillsboro and Rebecca Smith (Greg) of New Vienna; his daughter-in-law Kimberly McLaughlin of Hillsboro; and his siblings, Jeannette Gossett of Pricetown, Loujean Dixon of Marshall, John "Jake" McLaughlin (Lois) of Hillsboro and Gene McLaughlin of Hillsboro. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.
