He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Ralph Pence and Sarah Pence (Rogers); and his siblings, Diana Rhody, Patty Pence and David Pence.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Pence (West); his sons, Tom W. Pence (Julie) and Patrick W. Pence; his grandchildren, Christopher Pence, Emily Pence, Nicholas Pence and Drake Pence; and his sister Madeleine Crouse. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
