He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Helfinstine and Ethel Helfinstine (Barnhart); his wife Margaret J. Helfinstine (Peggy); his son Randy Alan Helfinstine; and his siblings, Carma Shieman and Melvin Helfinstine.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard Dennis Helfinstine (Robert Peelle) of Wilmington and Ralph LeRoy Jr. Helfinstine (Ann Marie) of Centerville; his grandchildren, Jason Helfinstine (Aubrey), Christopher Johnson, Kelly Johnson (Adam Willey) and Ashley Link (Brandon); and his great grandchildren, Claire, Macy, Ryder, Austin, Madison, Matthew and Raelyn.
