He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Elwood Karnes and Blanche Karnes (DeWitt); his wife Roberta Lou Karnes (Smith); and his brother Calvin Karnes. He is survived by: his son Doug Lee Karnes (Mechell) of Hillsboro; his grandchildren, Jackson Douglas Karnes of Lexington and Nicole Sophia Karnes of Louisville, Kentucky; and his nieces, Charlotte Stewart and Calvalene Karnes. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
