He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lester Burgess and Olive Burgess (Tufts); his brother Louis Burgess; and his siblings-in-law, Lucille Burgess, Sandra Burgess and Harold Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his siblings, Jerry Burgess, Elmer Burgess and Carrie Smith; his children, Jeff Burgess (Laura) of Sylva, Steve Burgess (Samantha) of Union, Katrina Phoung (Danny) of Malinta and Ty Burgess (Julie) of Columbus, Ohio; his grandchildren, Sarah, Mark and Malis; and his great grandchild Emma. He is also survived by extended family and dear friends.
