He was predeceased by: his parents, Claron Hilbert and Ruth Hilbert (Griest); his wife Eloise Countryman; his son Dr. James Hilbert; his brothers, Charles Hilbert and Dr. Robert Hilbert; and his son-in-law Gary Shy.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Hilbert (Jim Grow) of Rockbridge, Ohio; his daughter-in-law Luci Hilbert of Hicksville; his grandchildren, Lauri Turnbull (Tim) of Hicksville and Scott Hilbert of Hicksville; his great grandchildren, Tyler Turnbull (Melissa) of Charlotte and Stuart Turnbull (Laura) of Charlotte; and his great great grandchildren, Jackson and Kennedy Turnbull.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Johnson Memorial Library-Friends of the Library or to the Huber Opera House.
