He is survived by: his children, Charles E. Simmons and Carol A. Simmons; his granddaughter Heather M. Dayton (Victor); his great grandchildren, Skyler M. Dayton and Nevaya Dayton; and his brother Ray Henry Simmons of Newark. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
