He was predeceased by: his parents, Gay C. Smith and Flora Irene Smith (Stewart); and his wife Helen Smith (Grubb). He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Cruz, Kristin Lee, Christian Lynn Smith, Elizabeth "Beth" Irene Perez and David Smith, Jr.. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
