He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Russell Smith and Ardella Smith (Ponser); his wife Nancy L. Smith (Verway); his children, Michelle Phillips (Bob) of Newark, Mike Smith (Teresa) of Newark, Neil Vogelmeier of Newark, Rusty Smith (Marianne) of Utica, Mark and Carol Lewis (Rick) of Conover; and his siblings, Sharon Hitchings (Bob) of Hebron, Vernon R. Smith (Charlene) of Heath and Karen Glidden (Frank) of Sterling Heights, MI. He was also cherished by fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren.
